Amaze Your Friends With Your Craft Of Crocheting
Even though a computer-operated embroidery machine can’t be included in hand-crafts it still uses embroidery patterns just as much as you would with a needle and thread. Here are the five most popular ones.
1. Red embroidery floss was always color fast, so it didn’t bleed onto white on washday. Historically it was very expensive and often used alone to exhibit it’s rich color. Traditional patterns included kitchenware, fruit, flowers and birds. Today this is as popular as ever.
2. Initials. What can be a better way to personalize something than embroidering some initials. These can use a beautiful pattern, or be used inside the collar for a more permanent name than a laundry marker will provide.
3. Vintage patterns are back in fashion. I’m not surprised. Modern art doesn’t appeal to me.
4. Whither you are making them for the grandchildren or to sell, classic children’s embroidery items will always be popular. Use characters from a children’s book for instance. If you are selling them, don’t break copyright rules. Find a one hundred-year-old embroidery book with children’s patterns and combine 3 and four without breaking copyright.
5. Embroider onto garments. Get them from the opportunity shops, and personalize them. You can make a good income on eBay just doing that, but that’s another story. It isn’t about the most popular embroidery patterns.
